Clay Walsh, the main character in this movie. He was a frat boy who gives up his reckless carousing and now runs an antique shop in a small Midwestern college town. There, he has become notorious for his lofty and outdated theories on love and romance as well as for his devout belief in God. When Amber Hewson, a free-spirited young woman with a restless soul, drifts into the area and rents the apartment above his shop, she finds herself surprisingly drawn to his strong faith and noble ideas, which are new and intriguing to her. Clay, though he tries to fight and deny it, simply cannot resist being attracted to her spontaneous and passionate embrace of life. Ultimately, Clay must step out from behind his relational theories and Amber must overcome her own fears and deep wounds as the two of them, together, attempt the impossible: an "old-fashioned" and God-honoring courtship in contemporary America.
After we watched this movie, I am amazed. I think that the director did a very good job. The movie was well done. The story was great and very catchy. The scenery is just beautiful. The relationship between the two main characters is really resonated with me. It is a chick flick movie but well done express honest look at the dangers of moral relativism. Old Fashioned presents a refreshing worldview that there is a meaningful alternative to the current cultural conventions of free love that seem to be the found in most dating rituals today. Not only that but this movie also shows us that it is through forgiving one's self that we are able to accept God's grace and thereby let go of the sins of the past and embrace a new life of love and acceptance. Really recommended!!! Don't forget to check out their Facebook page.
