The old fashioned way : reclaiming the lost art of romance #review #giveaway #OLDFASHIONEDMOVIE

This last week, I reviewed The Old Fashioned way DVD. Have you seen the movie or trailer yet? If you like this movie, I am sure that you will like the novelization, and devotional book too.

The novelization

This Old Fashioned book was written by Rene Gurreridge and Rik Swartzwelder. I found this book to be well written and interesting. The references to the Bible and God are a little vague and non committal, but the book did make the point that we can’t ever do enough to erase past mistakes. Only through God’s forgiveness, We can start over with a clean slate. Clay Walsh tried to drastically change his life style and became totally irrational with some of the things he did. Amber learned that you can’t run away when things get hard you have to make a stand some time. I would recommend this book for anyone looking for a good book to read over the Summer holidays.

The devotional

This is a 40 days devotional book. I think this devotional is great for teenagers that started to interested in dating. (Or at least, that is what I am hoping for my kids anyway.) This book will open more ideas to talk about dating to your children. In everyday that I read, I can see that it does remind me my teen years, dating, feeling so much in love. When we are young, hormones can do a lot to you. I love the prayers and the considering points that Ginger wrote in this book. It really make me think. I really hope that this book will help many of us to stay right on track in the God honoring way.

Ginger did mention that this book is a guild line for you. Really it is between you and God. But if you want some more ideas to be more specific, at the end of the book also has Ten Commandments for the Old Fashioned Way. I think it is very cute and quite clear.
