Ingredients
1 cup butter, room temperature
1½ cups all-purpose flour (1 tbsp. removed.)
½ cup powder sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 tbsp. matcha powder
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350F. Line baking sheet with parchment paper or use a non-stick pan.
Mix all the ingredients together until well combined. I found the texture is easy to work with.
Measure out 1 tablespoonful sized portions and roll into balls. Press down slightly on each cookie ball.
Bake for 10-13 minutes, or until bottom of cookies are lightly brown. Be careful, don't over bake.
Cool on pan for about 5 minutes and then move to wire rack.
Now that I tried them, they are not too sweet. It is only half a cup of sugar. If you like Matcha, I think you will love it. But if you don't like Matcha, it might taste weird for you.
I attended a a "Tea" party where I first heard of using tea in baking. It seems like a good way to add a unique flavour to cookies, cakes etc. I haven't tried Matcha tea, so I don't know if I'd like it.
