When I heard about the 8 simple tools for raising great kids, I think this will be a wonderful book for me. Only reading content page, I am already all over this book. I believe I will learn a lot and cannot wait to practice with my children. It is a very easy to read book. It is very interesting and I cannot put it down. I would really recommend this book to any parents out there.
The author is Dr. Todd who got a doctorate in clinical psychology from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, CA.
Hello. I'm Dr. Todd! I earned my doctorate in clinical psychology from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, CA. We then moved to Columbus, OH, where I completed a postdoctoral fellowship with Wright State University at the Children’s Hospital. Since then, I have done my clinical work at Summit Clinical Services in Wheaton, IL, where I continue to see children, teens, and families on a full-time basis.
I have written five parenting books (faith based), which you can learn more about on the Books page. I have presented many parenting workshops at mom’s conferences (Hearts at Home, MOPS International), MOPS groups, churches, and schools, which you can read about on the Workshop page. I have also recently developed a skill-building game for kids called The FlexibleThinking Game.
Check out his website and you will learn many more. The assessment tab is very interesting. Check it out.

I agree entirely, having raised 7 myself that it is not easy. To complicate matters every child is different (thankfully) and each child has to be handled differently too. We all get there in the end but it's by no means an easy path.
ReplyDeleteParenting is not easy could be trying at times, but very rewarding. I really like the content list, sounds like a great book!
ReplyDeleteParenting is the most important and hardest job there is. Any advise is good, of course we have to take what works for each family and leave what doesn't. Sounds very interesting.
ReplyDeleteRaising children and being a parent is very hard and every child is different, I had one good and one bad, there was nothing I or the doctors could do with the bad one, it's not our parenting but something in them that just makes them who they are, and all we can do is try our best!!
