We live in Abbotsford, BC. The weather here is usually rain, rain and more rain. So when the weather gets nice, we always try to stay outside as much as we can with our little daughter. We go for walks, hang out in the backyard or go for a hike. We love outdoor activities which include camping and fishing and hiking. I always put sunscreen on her to protect her skin, even though she has darker skin. But I have to admit, that I never thought about protecting her eyes.
I got some products from Real Kids Shades for a review. Their sunglasses are lead-free and gives excellent protection against harmful UV rays. Also, there are so many cute styles that everybody, including your kids can have fun wearing them.
The one I got has a soft double sided adjustable band so even as my daughter gets older, we can still adjust the band to fit her head. What I like most is they are waterproof and rustproof. This is good being we live in BC.
The retail price is about $15.00 - $20.00 which I think is really cheap for the quality of these sunglasses. Plus I know that my daughter's eyes are being protected. I really recommended this to everybody.
While reviewing this product, I found out how much dangerous UV rays get into my daughter's eyes. Did you know that children's eyes can be damaged from sunlight until they are about 10 years of age? UV rays can do a lot of damage and even cause blindness.

ReplyDeleteI actually wear prescription sunglasses - otherwise I wouldn't see too much, lol. I do think it's important for kids to wear sunglasses to protect their eyes too.
